Vodafone Smart Speed 6 Review

image

Vodafone Smart Speed 6 is a affordable quality phone that brings 4G at a affordable price. It is designed to compete with the likes of Moto E Series, Huawei Y635, Alcatel Pixie 3.

It has a 4.5-Inch IPS Display (458X854)
Android Lollipop 5.1, 8GB of internal memory, 5MP Camera with LED flash, 1GB of RAM, 4G, Quad-Core processor, Supports Micro SD card upto 32GB and 1780mAh battery.

Thanks to Vodafone for lending me this device. For the latest devices and offers check out

DESIGN
The design of this phone is really high quality and unibody plastic giving you a durable and strong feeling when using the device for longer usage.

I was very impressed with the build quality of this phone, it’s much better than those offered by the Likes of Sony and HTC.

If you are looking for a 4G Smartphone with good build quality, something that actually works, I highly recommend the Vodafone Smart Speed 6 it’s a great device for first time Smartphone buyer’s or wants a decent phone on a tight budget.

image

image

image

SOFTWARE
It is running on Android Lollipop 5.1 with no bloatware, just a clean stock android that gives you a smooth performance all around.

Switching between apps is a bit slow at times, but considering this low price point you can’t go wrong with it. It works much better than other android phones three times more expensive than this and the build quality is really good, sturdy, durable and reliable.

image

image

image

MEMORY
Out of the 8GB internal storage, only 1.90GB is available to the user, but the good about most Vodafone Devices is this phone allows you to save most apps and files directly to your memory card than using all your phone’s internal memory.

I also recommend using Google Drive, Onedrive to back up all your important files, documents and music, you can also access all your content from these cloud services at anytime.

image

CAMERA
Camera is 5MP with LED flash and produces ok results but could be better.
I found it struggles to take any quality pics at night, regardless of how you manually control all the settings, the pic quality is still weak, especially at night.

Here are some pictures taken with the Vodafone Smart Speed 6 both in Daytime and Night.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Review

image

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is a Mid-Range Smartphone and sequel to last year’s Sony Xperia M2. It has a 5-inch 720p display, 8GB of internal memory, 2GB of RAM. Android Lollipop 5.0, Supports Micro SD card upto 200GB, 13MP Rear Camera, 5MP Front-facing Wide Angle Camera, Waterproof and dust tight (IP65 and IP68).
Upto 2 days battery life and 2400mAh battery.

Thanks to Vodafone for lending me this device. For the latest devices and offers check out
http://www.vodafone.co.uk

DESIGN
While Sony has made some decent Mid-Range Smartphones in the past, the design of this phone looks same with some minor changes.

Sticking with the same Onmi-balance design and a plastic unibody makes this device uninspiring and not such a good value for money.

There has been some compromises made to the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, not all of the ports are sealed like last year’s Sony Xperia M2, the back is a plastic case instead of glass, the speakers are moved into a different position, The Audio Quality is fine but not the best.

image

image

image

image

SOFTWARE
With Sony’s own custom interface on top, it is running Android 5.0. Navigating through the interface is simple, smooth and painless experience.

image

image

image

image

image

MEMORY
It has 8GB of internal memory, about 2.48GB is available to the user. You can expand the memory by adding a micro sd card which supports upto 200GB.

image

CAMERA
Out of all the comprises Sony has made on the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, Camera is probably one of the most decent and relevant feature.

With a 13MP Rear Camera with Auto Focus, it has many useful modes one that is particularly useful is the Superior Auto, which automatically recognises 52 different scenarios and opts for the best pics without you needed to do anything.

If you want more Control over your pictures then Manual mode is good where you can fine tune, brightness, white balance, temperature and more.

Pictures taken with the Sony Xperia M4 is sharp, high quality and it simply works.

Here are some pictures taken with the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua.

iPhone 6S Plus is Official

image

Apple has unveiled its larger iPhone sibling the iPhone 6S Plus an improved version of its previous generation.

Following on from the successful iPhone 6 Plus released in September 2014, Apple has just released another super-sized smartphone.

But it comes with a host of new features, including 3D Touch, a new stronger aluminium body and the strongest glass display yet.

The iPhone 6S Plus comes with the same 5.5-inch size display, but it has a lot more features than its predecessor. Powered by a new Taptic feedback engine, the new iPhone 6S Plus comes with 3D Touch.

This gives you access to two new gestures known as Peak and Pop. Peak is when you press lightly on the screen, giving you a preview of the content or get access to some quick shortcuts to your apps on the homescreen – like getting straight to selfie mode on the camera app.

Pop on the other hand brings up the full content or an app just by pressing harder on the screen.

For example, lightly press on an email and get a quick preview, but if you decide you need to reply to that message, press harder to Pop it out in full view. You can also Peak at webpages on weblinks without having to move out of the app you’re already in.

The iPhone 6S Plus is powered by Apple’s new third-generation, 64-bit A9 processor with a new transistor architecture. Apple claims it’s been “optimised for real-world use”.

As for the design, the iPhone 6S Plus is now protected with a new Apple custom alloy, series 7000 aluminium, which is the same used in the aerodynamic space. It comes in Silver, Gold, Space Grey and the new Rose Gold finish.

The glass on the screen has been improved too, with Apple claiming it’s the toughest glass yet. So hopefully no more cracked screens. For now anyway.

In terms of the camera, it has been revamped with a brand new 12-megapixel iSight camera that offers 50 per cent more pixels. That’s quite the improvement on the already excellent 8-megapixel option from last year.

You’ll also be able to record both HD and 4K videos on the iPhone 6S Plus for the first time with a staggering 8 million pixels.

The front-facing camera has been slightly revamped too, with the iPhone 6S Plus featuring a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera. The Retina display on your iPhone 6S Plus also now becomes your front-facing Retina flash with the processor boosting the screen’s brightness by three times when you use it as a flash.

There’s a new camera roll feature too called Live Photo. It brings your photos to life and is automatically applied to any photo you take if you have Live Photo switched on. It captures 1.5 seconds either side of the image for frame-to-frame views that bring your photos to life.

iPhone 6S Plus Release Date and Price
The iPhone 6S Plus release date has been set for September 25, alongside its little brother the iPhone 6S. You can pre-order from September 12.

Prices are set at $199 for 16GB, $299 for 64GB and $299 for 128GB on a two-year contract.

iPhone 6S is Official

image

Apple has finally announced the iPhone 6S, much rumoured Smartphone at a event In San Francisco.

The handset is the 9th generation entry into Apple’s iPhone series, which first launched back in 2007.

And the series has come a long way since then, with the iPhone 6S touting a number of changes including a rose-gold colour option, a ‘3D Touch’ pressure sensitivty display, and a stronger Series 7000 aluminium body.

Apple announced the new device – alongside its bigger iPhone 6S sibling – at its annual iPhone launch event, which it held in a brand new venue this year – the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, USA.

Speaking at the event, Apple’s Tim Cook, the company’s CEO, said: “What we have to show you today is really awesome, and while they may look familiar, we have changed everything about these new iPhones.”

Right, let’s get down to device specs. Just like last year’s iPhone 6. The iPhone 6S has a 4.7-inch Retina display.

It’s also running on a brand new A9 processor, custom-built by Apple, that’s purported to be 70% faster at processing than last year’s A8 chip. That rises to 90% faster for graphics tasks – a “console-class” GPU, apparently.

The M9 motion co-processor is embedded directly into the A9 chip, which means it’s always on. That’s a first for the iPhone.

When it comes to new features, the headline addition is the ‘3D Touch’ display. That means the iPhone 6S screen is pressure-sensitive, just like the Apple Watch display and the 12-inch MacBook trackpad. Although on those devices, it was called ‘Force Touch’.

It offers up new gesture controls, with three different pressure options – tap, press, and deeper press.

Speaking about 3D Touch, Craig Federeghi, VP of Software and Engineering, says: “Of course, 3D Touch is integrated throughout the system and all the apps you use most.”

The camera has seen a number of upgrades, including a move to a 12-megapixel camera, up from last year’s 8-megapixel sensor – that’s a pixel increase of 50%.

What’s more, the new handset is also the first iPhone able to shoot 4K video. That means there’ll be 8 million pixels in every single frame of footage. Not bad, eh?

There’s also a new ‘Live Photos’ feature. Basically, when you take photos, images just before and after you hit the shutter button are also taken. Then you can ‘Force Touch’ any picture in your camera roll, and enjoy the scene as a short gif.

Siri is also getting an update. The digital assistant will now be able to be accessed from anywhere in the operating system, just by saying “Hey Siri”.

Other features carried over from the last iPhone is a Touch ID fingerprint scanner (albeit an upgraded version), an NFC chip, and the same design aesthetic.

The device also has an LTE-Advanced modem that’s good for a theoretical 300mbps download speed. It also supports 23 bands, making it a solid handset choice for worldwide roaming.

It’s also going to ship running iOS 9, which goes live to the public on September 16.

That all sounds great, but how much is it going to cost you? The iPhone 6S will start at $199 on a two-year contract, at a price of $27 per month. That means the iPhone 6 drops to $99 for a contract of the same length.

The new iPhone 6S will be available for pre-order starting on September 12, and will go on sale officially on September 25 in the UK, US, and more locations worldwide.
